SKM commuter rail transit

Sopot is the central gem of the Tricity rail corridor. SKM trains depart Sopot station every 7 to 10 minutes, reaching Gdańsk Główny in 20 minutes and Gdynia Główna in 14 minutes.

The station has two sides: east towards Dolny Sopot (beach) and west towards Górny Sopot (hills).

Parking and car access restrictions

Central Sopot enforces strict seasonal paid parking zones (Zone A) with elevated tariffs. Bohaterów Monte Cassino is strictly pedestrianized. Driving into central Sopot during sunny summer weekends can result in severe gridlock.

If driving, choose hotels in Karlikowo or ensure your Dolny Sopot hotel confirms a private reserved garage bay.

Coastal bike and walking promenade

A continuous paved walking and cycling boulevard extends along the Baltic dunes all the way from Gdańsk Brzeźno through Sopot into Gdynia Orłowo (over 12 km). Bike rental stations are ubiquitous.

Pedestrian and cyclist lanes are strictly segregated along the boardwalk; respect marked lane symbols.
