Campanhã earns its place through rail, Metro and coach connections. The stay works when those connections repeat, not simply because a train arrives here once.

Choose Campanhã when mainline trains, regional links or coach departures will shape several days. Choose a central or riverfront base when the station is only an arrival point and most of the trip happens elsewhere.

Porto Airport publishes a direct getBUS connection to Campanhã Intermodal Terminal. Rail arrivals connect with Porto Metro, and the terminal lists free 24-hour luggage storage and a 24-hour waiting room; confirm the live operator timetable and exact platform path.
Before a rail day
Campanhã is the rail-led Porto base. The benefit grows with each repeated mainline or regional journey and shrinks when the station appears on only one arrival or departure.
CP lists connections with the Aveiro and Porto-São urban service, Porto São Bento, Regional trains, Alfa Pendular and Intercidades.
Read the station and service on the ticket. Do not assume a São Bento departure or that every urban line uses the same platform sequence.
6When the climb is the problem
Campanhã is valuable because several modes meet here, but each connection still has its own operator, timetable and boarding point.
CP identifies Porto Campanhã as a connection to Porto Metro, and Metro do Porto's current frequency sheet names Campanhã on Line C service toward Fórum Maia.
This establishes network access, not a guaranteed same-platform transfer or a verified step-free route from every rail platform.

2Before choosing a room
The intermodal terminal lists level access, tactile flooring, lifts, moving walkways in the pedestrian underpass, accessible WCs and audio information. These are terminal features, not proof of a continuous step-free route across a specific rail platform, Metro connection and hotel entrance.
Do not force the fit
Official city, tourism and transport pages support the practical details. Folio calculates walking routes with Valhalla, OpenStreetMap and Open-Elevation. Neighbourhood-specific modules use exact-span observations from the visible source register; unsupported room and street claims are suppressed.
